Pontelandolfo, Italy
September 4th through 13th
An overview of the trip
The Italian landscape has been memorialized by artists for centuries. Now it’s your turn to bring your style and passion to the Italian countryside.Nestled in the southern Sannio hills, this workshop offers you the opportunity to leave the four walls of your studio behind and observe the landscape, streetscapes and people of small Italian villages. Participants will share large double rooms in La Locanda della Presuntuosa. The villa itself provides numerous vistas to enshrine on canvas. Located in Pontelandolfo, the property is in a wonderful park of six hectares with olive groves, orchard, pond, swimming pool, tennis court and woodland trails.Within an area steeped in history and culture where the main plaza is still the center of town life and lore, Pontelandolfo’s cobblestone streets take you to a medieval castle tower and cafés, ancient Roman churches and miniature works of art hidden around the village.
Some Highlights of the Trip
•Transportation from the Benevento Train Station to Pontelandolfo
•10 nights in a villa near the historic center of Pontelandolfo.
•Most meals are included, either out or cooked by our host/cook. Vegetarians can be accommodated.
•Arrival Day Bar Crawl will help you know the town and give the locals the chance to meet you.
•Locally Sourced Food Lunch at Agriturismo Borgo Cerquelle
•English Speaking Translator for all Italian centered events.
•Wine and artesian food tasting at a local vintner.
•Optional: Sharing a meal with a local family in their home. (Additional fee of €30)
•Excursion to Altilia Roman Ruins http://www.sepino-altilia.it/
•Expedition to interesting visual sites.
•Outing to Benevento – museums of your choice, Arco di Triano, Hortus Conclusus
•Optional Excursion to Reggio Caserta tickets are currently €15
•Transportation to all painting sites and events.
•An exhibition of work created with local buyers in attendance.
•Occasional evening critique sessions with your fellow artists

Day One - 9/4
Arrive at La Presuntosa.
(Your best bet is to fly into Naples and take the train to Benevento.)

"Brindisi" Meeting with Food and Bar crawl.
(Be prepared to be blown away at each stop.)
Day Two - 9/5
Expedition to Altilia
(Roman Archeological Site)

(We'll pack a picnic lunch for the Roman Site.)
Day Three - 9/6
A Visit to Agriturismo Borgo Cerquelle
(A chance to paint Farmland, Mountains and Cows.)

Day Four - 9/7
Trip to Cantina Fosso Degli Angeli
(Vineyards and Olive Groves)

Visit to Benevento
(Capitol City of the Province) Museum visits and Cityscapes galore!

Day Six - 9/9
An Optional Trip to Reggia Caserta (An incredible palace but be warned, it's a lot of walking.) or Explore Pontelandalfo
All meals at Villa or on your own at Reggia Caserta
Day Seven - 9/10
A Visit to the Hillside City of Morcone
(You have to see this to believe it!)

Day Eight - 9/11
Explore Pontelandolfo
Members of a traditional Dance Company will be wandering around the village in costume. They are happy to pose for you!

The Cost
This trip is limited to eight participants
The cost is 2200 Euro (about 2575 us dollars) plus a $150.00 registration fee.
With fewer than eight (I don't think we'll have any trouble meeting that) the cost rises a bit.)
